1. Can you get thrown out of an all-you-can-eat buffet?

Two men were banned from a Brighton restaurant this week for eating too much. It made me wonder how easy it is to get thrown out of an all-you-can-eat restaurant.

Mr Wu's Chinese restaurant invites customers to 'Eat As Much As Yu Like'. I fill my plate with spring rolls, moodles, curry, egg fried rice, beef, chicken wings, chips... Twenty minutes later, the same again, but with sweet and sour sauce.

After an hour, a waiter looks surprised as I go back to the buffet again. This time I just take my favourite things. I'm thirsty but they don't serve tap water so I have the soup as a hot drink. After an hour and a half, I feel like throwing up. I put another chip in my mouth. After almost three hours, I have a fourth round: just chips. Nobody says anything.

'Are you finished?' he says.
'Yes' I reply quietly.
He takes my plate away, but doesn't ask me to leave.
I get a clean plate. The waiters smile at me.
I ask the manager what I have to do to get kicked out.
'We don't kick people out.' he says. 'Chinese people like to take their time when they're eating.'
'What if I carry on eating?'
He smiles. 'It does say to eat as much as you like'.
